INT-Tech uNEEDXR™ Technology Unveils 100,000-nit Full-color Native RGB OLEDoS, Redefining XR

INT-Tech, the display-technology pioneer behind the 60,000-nit RGB OLED microdisplay, has set a new global benchmark. Our latest technological breakthrough achieves 100,000 nits with proper white balance, almost doubling the previous milestone and delivering 10X the commercial performance of ~10,000 nits.

INT chose a different path.

For years, XR devices relied on white OLED with color filters, tandem stacks, and MLAs—approaches that hit their limits. INT chose a different path, creating native RGB direct-emission microdisplays under the uNEEDXR™ platform. By removing color filters, refining OLED stacks and materials, and boosting light-extraction efficiency, INT has repeatedly shattered luminance records, achieving unprecedented 100,000-nit performance with a simple, mass-producible single-junction structure—no MLA required.

uNEEDXR™ technology precisely addresses the pain points of AR glasses.

Despite rapid advances in display technologies for AR hardware, five pain points continue to constrain mass-market adoption, as highlighted in the IDC blog:

  • Insufficient luminance for outdoor readability
  • Challenges in delivering accurate, lifelike colors
  • Battery life constraints: currently only ~1 hour without an external battery pack
  • Form-factor constraints, weight exceeding 50 g hinders all-day wear
  • Persistently high display manufacturing costs

uNEEDXR today announced that its native-RGB OLEDoS architecture directly addresses each bottleneck:

  • Peak luminance > 100,000 nits enough for XR glasses to step outside and stay crystal-clear under full sunlight;
  • Superior image fidelity with ~100% DCI-P3;
  • 7.5X longer battery life than best-in-class WOLED
  • Monolithic native-RGB emission structure enables the most compact modules;
  • Its basic and simple device structure delivers higher yield and a better OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
